We are in need of some extra help at MK Cat Rescue. If you’d like to volunteer for a local, independent charity and make a real difference to the lives of cats in need, then read about the roles we need to fill below.
You need to be committed, love cats and be over 16 years old.
If you’d like to apply, simply email us with a little about you, the role you’re interested in, and your phone number and we’ll get in touch.
We need more fundraisers! Can you spare a few hours on occasional weekends to help man one of our stalls? You’ll have the chance to raise money for our charity and chat to members of the public about us. When you start, we’ll make sure you’re with an experienced volunteer to help you learn the ropes.
Stock Coordinator *position filled*
Are you super organised? We need someone to help us manage our stock. We receive items such as bric-a-brac for sale, cat food, litter, toys and more and have various storage points across MK. We need someone to keep track of this stock, to arrange for a volunteer to collect new donations, and to thank donators when it comes in.
Fostering Support Officer
We are looking for a committed individual who holds a full driving license and can help to:
- Communicate with our fosterers over their requirements for food, litter and so on
- Organise ‘cat cuddlers’ to visit fosterers (see below)
- We also have a few fosterers who cannot drive, so occasionally you’ll need to provide transportation for a fosterer and their foster cat to a vets
You’ll need to be committed, have great communication skills and a love of cats.
As well as getting to fuss and play with the cats and kittens in our care (the fun part) you will also need to be prepared to clean pens and empty litter trays. Our cats are scattered around Milton Keynes with different fosterers, so you will need to liaise with them about when you can visit, and be able to provide your own transportation. Good hygiene is obviously essential, and we’ll give you some guidelines about handling kittens and more feisty cats!

We are looking for more cat workers to join our team. This role involves tracking, locating and trapping cats who we feel are in need of our help. Full training and equipment will be provided. You’ll need to have your own transport, and be patient, practical, responsive, care passionately about cats and have a can-do attitude.
See a role that takes your fancy?
If you’re interested in joining our amazing team, please email us with a few details about yourself and providing your telephone number so we can have an informal chat.
We look forward to hearing from you!
